Venezuela Exit
This news from Dave McCleery, MAF's interim Latin America Region director:
Our Venezuela Staff left the country late last week in response to a government directive for North American missionaries to leave the jungle provinces. Our two planes were flown by Bruce DeVries/Dan Whitehead and Matt Cox/Dale Shaylor to Sanford, Florida where we were granted free parking by the FBO (through a contact that Dale Shaylor had through New Tribes). Mauricio Sanchez is our scout on the front lines and ‘remained behind’ at our base in Puerto Ayacucho to monitor activity and maintain a visible presence. Future plans remain uncertain until we see what happens with the government this month. Through this situation, it has been amazing to see our Lord opening and closing doors and preparing in ways we still can’t see clearly. Keep praying for the decisions that we must make in the next weeks and for our families that are facing some unknowns.
