Jungle Flight
I had hoped before school started I would have the opportunity to go on a flight with one of the MAF pilots. Just after lunch today the phone rang and Sandy Toomer asked if I 'd like to go on a flight to pick up a lady who was experiencing a difficult labor. She needed to be brought to the Hospital Vozandes del Oriente in Shell. He didn't need to ask twice. Within minutes I had grabbed my camera and was out the door for a three minute walk to the MAF hanger. It started raining as I left the house, but by the time the flight plan was filed, the clouds had cleared enough for us to take off.
