Thoughts From Shell Archives Back to Thoughts From Shell home
Career Members I don't know how long I'll keep this blog going. I suppose I won't stop it, but my posts sure have become few and far between lately. Life just isn't as exciting for me in the US compared to Shell, Ecuador. Since Sunday we have been at the MAF US headquarters in Redlands, California. We done our field debriefing and a meeting with the candidate committee, along with a few other meetins. Today we found out that we have been accepted as career staff. That was good news for us. You might think that after five years as short term staff that we'd be shoo-ins, but we didn't want to take anything for granted. Our next two weeks here we will be in the Ministry Partnership seminar, during which time we will prepare for the next step of our ministry. We will be doing deputation until we reach 100% support, and then at that point I will be working for the IT department. Currently we have 55% of the support that we need. Right now I'm just plain exhausted. A lot has happened in the last month; coming back from Ecuador, spending time in Oakhurst, moving to Idaho, planning to buy a home there, and then coming down to Southern California. Friday we'll be at the beach for the day visiting with family friends. I'm looking forward to that. Oh, and I'm also going to take my bicycle along, and hope to get a ride in on the Pacific Coast Highway. I've really missed riding my road bike that past five years. I went out for a ride tonight, as well as last Saturday, and I can hardly wait to do more. There's a lot of great riding in the Boise area and I'm looking forward to that.
